Refuge. I've often contemplated that word and its
meaning, the state of being protected or
safeguarded, from danger or hardship. I've come
to realize that in bed with Scully I'm a refugee.

I find my safety and well being in her arms. No one
can hurt me here; I'm protected. She seems to keep
my nightmares at bay. I've never slept better than I do
when I'm sleeping with Scully. I fall asleep ten times
easier when I hear her breathing and feel her body
close to mine. Whether we make love, snuggle, or just
sleep, all the horrors of my life are just a bad memory
when I'm with her in this bed.

When we wake up and go about our day, the raging
storm of our lives continue. But, somehow, it doesn't
seem quite as harsh, knowing that when night falls, we
find our refuge in each others arms and in our bed.
